Video & TV SideView App to lose Core Features

Hi Folks,

I'm really puzled by the a message that was displayed on the Video & TV SideView Android app earlier today. It stated that from the 24th May a number of core features of the app will no longer be available.

The same message is also available on their website here - http://info.tvsideview.sony.net/en_ww/

It just seems crazy to be removing the program guide, timer rec and reminder functions, to name just a few, from the app.

Why are you doing this SONY?

So from 24th May onwards users of Sony Smart TVs and the will no longer be able to view channel listings and setup timers from the companion app.

If this goes ahead you will a lot of angry users.

Does anyone know anything about this?

Is Sony going to release a new app to provide this functionality?

I'd love to hear your thoughts....

My personal opinion - this is a wrong move by Sony !! Im not too happy about this either. It has become a handy backup - as well as the ability to Timer Rec via app without interferring with family members viewing.

how many of thece services are internet dependat? How about not updating the app?

What a rubbish move by Sony, the TV's didn't deliver wat was promised on Day 1, and they are degrading the seevice already. Disappointing.
