SONY BRAVIA KD55XE8396 slow response

Hi all

I just bought myself the above tv in the black friday sales. I wasnt going to spend this much, but i was convinced by various people that the extra money for the Sony was worth it. In terms of picture quility, I cant fault it, but I cant help feeling that its lacking processor power for general tv navigation. Is it normal to press a button (guide or home for example) and then wait 10-20 seconds for something to happen? Ive now had to go back to my bt youview box for general tv viewing, because I cant deal with such major lag on such minor functionality. Am I missing something, or are all the android bravias like this? Does anyone know any fixes to speed it up?

Incase it makes a difference, I have a fibre 50mbit broadband connection.

Any help appreciated.

Hi @jchadburn. The Guide appears instantly (about half a second if I’m honest) on my KD55XE9305. Home takes about 2 seconds first time then instantly (same definition as above) on subsequent presses.

Out of interest have you performed any updates since purchase?

Hi There

I have the same problems on the same tv

Very slow response

wait of 20 secs or more to switch on

Guide takes about the same time, problem changing channels

Internet is broadband cable 80/20

have updated the software........

Still searching for an answer.

Frankly this is not good enough, my 10 year old bravia was quicker!

Thanks for sharing. I dont think its enough of an anoyance to return it, especiaclly since ive thrown the packaging, but frustraiting non the less.
