Mirroring with Sony Bravia KD55S8505c

We have got a Sony Bravia KD55S8505c TV and want to mirror it with our Samsung S6 edge phones. I have tried using the quick connect feature and although the phone can 'see' the tv it doesn't look as if the tv can see the phone and I don't know why. I get a message saying it was unable to register.

Does anyone know how I can get it to mirror? I have spent about an hour reading things online and seem to be going round in circles as they contradict each other!

Hi there

Its always Samsung phones that seem to have the problems connecting to Sony TV.

Have a look at this link to see if any of it helps:

Also, have a look at the pairing settings on the tv for wifi direct or screen mirroring (its been a while since ive looked), but if there is already a device paired, remove it and try again.

Thanks, I have tried this to begin with -it doesn't seem to work at all as it simply won't connect. It is so frustrating to have two top-end products that can't speak to each other and yet claim they can do this simple function!
