DIY - I want to fix my sony kd-43x8305c that do not turn on

My TV is not working.

I had got in touch with the call centre of sony, and it seems I will have to change my motherboard or something called "Platine".

The price for changing it is above the market price for a new tv.

I have 2 options:

Fix it myself or dispose of in a way that someone can use the spare parts.
I could try to do fix it myself, but it would be nice to see some tutorials.

a) Do you know where I can find a tutorial/manual to change those parts.

b) if I have to trash it, where and how is the best environmental friendly way of doing it?

Hi Filipe,

If you're not familiar with disassembling and fixing electronic products I would recommend to contact a local repair centre. Even with a service manual or a tutorial a lot of things can go wrong if you do not know anything about repairing electronic devices.
