4k tv kd-55X8509C turns off blinks red 6 times

Hi got a 55 inch sony 4k and intermittently switches off and blinks red six times,ive done cold reset and factory reset it does work but its happening more often.

software is up to date at version 7 any ideas

Hi,

A red blinking LED usually indicates a technical issue. So I would recommend to contact an authorized service centre.

Hi thanks for that ive been on the phone to sony and guess what they will exchange my tv only two problems with that is mine is a 3d tv and they have stopped doing 3d and also its not a brand new replacement will see what thay say tomorrow

I have a similar TV, 55XE8096, and I also just had this issue - randomly, without any issues like power-surges or misuse.

Initially it was turning off after only a few seconds, but after a factory reset and an update to the latest version it can take hours to turn off end show the red light blinking 6 times.

I've contacted Sony and I'm waiting for a response now and after that I'll contact a local TV repair service as my product is out of warranty.

A little disappointing as the product was bought in 2017 and I didn't expect it to break down in only 5 years.

How did you resolve you issue?
