Led At the bottomof TV stays on

I have a Sony Bravia TV Model Number KDL-42W653A and when I normall turn it on a white light at the bottom of the normally flashes on then goes of but now when I turn the set on I get a orange coloured light which stays there even when the TV is turned off can someone on explain what the problem is

So how do I turn the timer off and how could I have turned it on.
