Very strange, you are not the only one complaining about corrupted files(videos, images etc).I used to think it is the card incompatibility that does it.How about if you play the files from internal storage?

Sorry for the long subject, but I couldn't really explain it shortly. My problem is that my phone corrupts photos and videos after taking them via the camera,I recorded a 30min video of me and my friends playing soccer/football and when I wanted to play it back, the video had green lines in it or didn't even play, claiming that the video had an invalid URL...same is with files downloaded from my pc,they work on my laptop but when I transfer them via MediaGo they either can't be played, are corrupted or unreadable. The SD card itself isn't corrupted because I plugged it in via an adapter and all the files I transferred(manually, not through MediaGo)were fine and the phone read them ok,but I don't want to have to turn off the phone and eject the SD card every time I want to transfer a file 😕 .My card is a class 4 Kingston 8GB SDHC.I didn't have these problems with my X8,why does having a better phone mean more problems ,please help me on this because I've already tried formatting the card 3 times with no luck,I also factory resetted it,same result.Oh and some of the videos I have on it play, but they stop at random(different every time)times saying invalid URL or the video can't be played.

The files seem to run fine, the problem occurs when I switch the data storage in the camera from internal to SD,I did a few photos at night and 3 out of 6 of them had either multicolored lines on them or were completely grey.As for the songs and videos downloaded from my pc,some videos do play and get the invalid URL error after a moment, some don't even play, while songs(and this is the wierdest thing I have ever seen)get damaged in a peciuliar way, while playing one song others overlapse on top of it(2 seconds of the given song the 1-3 secs of another one while only playing one track).

Yeah,I think this confirms my idea of the incompatibility issues between some sd cards and sony devices.Until now,I have seen only sandisk micro sd cards class 10 giving the best performance, even sony cards have issues on sony devices.Have you tried low level formattin the cards? And a software repair for the phone?Just for a check,to see if the phone does that.

So I checked a 2GB SanDisk SD card and the issue was exactly the same, all my other cards are from Kingston(even the same class) so,no difference there ,but there's an up-side ,the phone stopped corrupting photos made by the camera ,for now at least,I made photos in all modes and recorded a 10 min. video and there wasn't a problem, but anything I transfer via PC still get's corrupted ,I'm starting to think that...maybe,just maybe MediaGo isn't fully compatible with this model,or something is wrong with the transfer process itself, maybe MTP and MSC have a bug in them, because it doesn't matter what mode I turn on while connecting to my PC,using or not using MediaGo,the files get corrupted, but when I hook my card up via an adapter the files are fine, and the phone reads them ok with no issues whatsoever, maybe Sony should look into the transfer process itself and maybe make a patch

I think I found the solution...partially...I booted my phone in safe mode and then transferred a song and video through MediaGo using MTP,and no sign of corruption, meaning that it's a software bug,but I can't pinpoint exactly what's causing the problem .Maybe u guys know of a program or application that could do such a thing.Waiting for some info(hopefully) .Oh wait do u think it could be an antivirus?Because Avast! already caused some problems on my X8 😕 .If it checks out I'll report back, hopefully with my problem resolved

Ok,I uninstalled Avast! and transferred all my photos from my pc onto my phone and not one was corrupted,in terms of songs,it happens but it's more like one in 10 songs or even less than that, and if a song comes up corrupted all u have to do is delete it and transfer again and it works fine ,for now no signs of corruption but we'll see in the long run,I hope it doesn't start acting up again

Unfortunately the issue came back after an hour :-(, the only way to transfer files safely is through safe mode, it's either a process or app that corrupts the data, 😞

If I understand it correctly you have problem with that the files get corrupted when copying them to your PC via USB connection.

One idea might be to try Wifi instead if your PC is on the same network.

1. You can use an app like MyPhoneExplorer. Requires a corresponding PC Windows program.

2. Use e.g ESFileExplorer and map a shared network drive on your PC and copy the files.

Edit:

Of course this suggestions is not meant as a solution for the root cause.

More as a workaround and troubleshooting help.
