I had similar touchscreen issues with first xperia L firmware.

Now solved with last update released

I suggest you to do it if available in your country. You have to use PC companion to search and start update

I just bought my Xperia L today (6 Sept 2013). Mostly there is no problem with the phone itself. But, sometimes when I am trying to manage the icons on the homescreen or on the menu page by swipe up/down/left/right, sometimes an app showed up.

I am also using another mobile phone, Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini, and do the same thing, but that "error" never comes up.

Any idea?

I am not really sure about the firmware update, as if I am not mistaken, I have updated it yesterday, and the problem occurs after the update. That time my hands are sweaty, and now it is not. So, please let me get back to you again when I can "proove" your suggestion if it is correct. Let me do the kudos later.

Thanks Cot88.

My Firmware Build No. : 15.0.A.2.17

I noticed that the "error" will only occur when I plug the USB cable from the phone to the computer. In other way, the error will not occur when I use the USB to recharge the battery with the power adapter.

I hope anyone that know about this, and/or come from Sony's technical support can help how to solve this, as this is kinda weird.

Try your phone charging from a laptop running on battery(not with AC adapter) and reply. I am sure this problem will not occur.

Actually it is doesn't matter whether it is like that if it is on PC or Laptop. The problem is, how to fix this? Any how this problem will make any other feel dissatisfied with the product itself.

Whether using any power source to charge, or while not charging, the display should work properly. This is what I am wondering, why this error happen. I also have Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini. This error never occur on that device. So I expect Sony don't give that error to me as well.

I have decided to get back to Sony Service Center earlier today, I showed them the video that I recorded when the error comes up. They (Sony Service Center Officer) said that they want to change the screen itself, considering that they don't have anything to calibrate the touchscreen (the officer said so). Yesterday, I have asked them to calibrate the touchscreen, and they said that they are already re-calibrate the touchscreen, it is wasting my time for 3 hours. Today I know that they are lying to me, as they said they don't have anything to calibrate the touchscreen.

First, this is a new phone, I just purchased it few days ago. Less than a week for sure.

Second, they offer me to change the screen instead of offering for a new phone, as replacement.

Third, the replacement itself will take 2 months. They don't have the spareparts, then I should wait. I believe that they will send it to Jakarta, Indonesia, as I am in Surabaya, Indonesia.

I have made my decision. Come to Sony Service Center is such a waste. Wasting my money, wasting my time, and also wasting my energy, so I decided to sell that phone instead of fixing it.

Actually, this is the first time I use Sony's Smart Phone after long time ago using Sony Ericson Feature Phone. I definitely won't buy any Sony mobile phone again.

SOLUTION

If you have the same problem as I experienced and if it is can not be solved using SUS or PCC, just sell your phone. Buy the new one.
