Hi,

I was recently magged, and lost my phone in the process. The thing is, I had encrypted my phone. So, can the thieves factory reset my phone and access it? I really hope not 'cause I don't want it to be of any use to them.

Hi @Brain3y, very sorry to hear about what has happened.

If you had a Google account added in your device and an active screen lock, the device will be pretty much useless for the thieves as they will be asked to log in with your Google account after resetting the device, due to the anti theft feature called Google device protection.

There is also a Google service called "Find My Phone" where you can remotely wipe the device. If the device is powered off it will reset itself as soon as it has an active Wi-Fi connection.

I hope that answers your question!
