Hi @maz_da,

I am sorry to hear you're unhappy with your M4.

As apps continue to get larger you will likely experience memory issues on this device. However, here's some tips for managing your memory.

Uninstalling unwanted applications to increase the amount of free internal memory

If the Uninstall option isn't available, the application can't be deleted. Most preinstalled applications can't be deleted as they are integrated in the operating system of your device. All applications that you have downloaded and installed from Google Play can be deleted.

To uninstall an application

From your Home screen, tap the Application screen icon.

Find and tap Settings > Apps.

Tap the All tab.

Scroll to the application that you want to uninstall, then tap it.

Select Uninstall > OK.

Clearing the cache and the data of applications on a regular basis

Applications occupy an increasing amount of storage when they are in use. The occupied storage can be distinguished into:

Cache. The cache is data which is stored so that future requests for that data can be served faster. Deleting the cache doesn't delete any user data stored in that applications. The application might need a bit longer to start up the next time. This is not perceivable in most cases.

Data. The data of an application is the user-related part of an application. This can be highscores or saved games, account data in an application like Facebook, or personal data like contacts in the Contacts applications. Deleting the data of an application might lead to an irretrievable loss of personal data stored in an application.

To delete the cache or the data of an application

From your Home screen, tap the Application screen icon.

Find and tap Settings > Apps.

Tap the All tab.

Scroll to the application that you want, then tap it.

Select Clear cache to delete the cache of the application, or Clear data to delete all user data (including the cache) stored by the application.

Backing up data to different memory types

Generally, you should not save photos, videos and other personal content solely in the internal memory of your device. If something should happen with the hardware, or if the device is lost or stolen, the data stored in the device internal memory is gone forever.

You do not need to back up or make a copy of applications that you downloaded from Google Play (Play Store). They can normally be downloaded again if you have set up a Google account in your device. You can find the apps which you have purchased under My apps in Google Play, so you will not need to either pay, or search, for them again.

See the thread on xda in m4aqua forum if you want to enable adoptable storage. Plenty of people seem to have have it working. It is not included as standard with any Xperia device or any other big oem handsets. It should tell you all you need to know about how reliable it'll be especially with cheap sdcards

Hi Christofer.
Do not support adoptable internal storage!? Why is that so? This is what all M4 Aqua E2303 owners have been beggingfor, for the last year?
Please give us all a thorough explanation, as to why you have let us down on this critical point?
It will be interesting to see if there will be an answer at all - normally, Sony answers all difficult questions with mindless answers - or not at all......
Christofer, please let me explain you my E2303-situation - which is probably the same for all the other compareable users:
I updated my device after cleaning cache and all unnecessary app's to get to 500 MB free internal memory neceassary for the update. After update 7,01 GB of 8,00 GB was gone - now the app's starts updating, which means I will probably end up at 200-300 MB free internal RAM - way below the limit needed for all security updates in the future.....
Christofer; need I say how extremely unhappy I am? I have a phone, which is compareable to a brick - despite the fact I have 8+64 GB memory in the useless thing - by the way; how is the Sony smartphone marketshare doing?......
