notifcation sounds not working

I got my new xperia m4 aqua today, and i love it, however the notification sounds dont appear to be working. I have had text messages, whatsap messeges and facebook messages and I am getting nothing but a vibration even though I have chosen a notifcation sound. Any ideas why this is and how to solve it? cheers

i have the options for media, alarm and ring tone volume set to full, they are the only volume options, and when people call it rings fine, just not for texts and such

Open each app > menu > settings > notification has to be selected.

they have notification tones selected but nothing plays apart from vibrate

let's test whatsapp

Whatsapp > menu > settings > notifications > conversations tones must be on, notification tone (change it to a new ringtone) > restart your phone > check again

Go to settings>apps>all>messages>and tik the<show notifications>botton on the top.this will help u.its work for me.to this problem.

Simple... Go to WhatsApp info and turn on notification, it works.
