third party earphone doesn't work on 4.3 update on Xperia tx

I was able to use any third party earphones (my apple earphones) to listen to music on 4.1, but after updating to 4.3, my Xperia tx does not detect my earphones!

Phone: Xperia tx lt29i
Android version: 4.3

Try to clear data for smart connect in settings-apps-all.

It could be just incompatibility after the update.If you contact xperia care,they will tell you to use only sony earphones.

There is but it's complicated - It involves rooting and altering the headphone code which most have if they have volume control and the ability to answer calls etc

For your consideration here - Tested on Z ultra but it is claimed the procedure will work on other models

Strange thing... really.. When it comes to earphones I can listen to radio and walkman with my Aurvana creative set, with no problem, but not really tested the earphones with remote controller on them... Well there are optional earphones in markets like Sony MDRE X100APB, they're quite an alternative to those in xperia package, and they're promised to work with Androids, iOS and WinMobile 8. They work great, also tested with LG L7 II without any problems for picking up calls, and changing tracks from SD. Wont help much here, cause I don't have any iOS earphones. ;-/

When I updated from ICS to JB my skullcandies stopped working on my xperia tx, they weren't recognized by the phone, but that was just because the phone couldn't recognize the microphone and controls of the headphones. To make them work I just have to connect them while pressing down on the VOL down button, then they work just fine. Try doing the same since skullcandies are made to work better for apple products. Hope this helps!

My Sony headphones that came with the xperia do the same thing, can't be a headphone issue
