Heya all!

Since the last update, I have the problem that my phone can't save new contacts. I still have all my old contacts, but the new ones I add save for a brief moment and then just magically disappear! My phone still has a lot of free memory so that shouldn't be an issue, does anyone know how I can solve this!?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

Do you save your contacts as a local phone contact or Google contact? I suggest that you check the filter settings in you phone. Go to Contacts > Menu button (the one with three dots) > Filter. Check Online contacts and under "Display contacts".

I usually save my contacts as a local phone contact, but I don't get the option to choose anymore. I don't think it's a filter problem, because the contacts I add disappear, and don't work for other services either (like sms). When someone texts me, I can add them as a contact, for a minute or so the phone actually saves it and show the name of the person who texted me in my sms inbox. When I close the app and open it again it's just the number of the person, no name, just like it was before I added him or her to my contacts.

In the latest update, you have the option to choose where to save the contact just below where you enter first and last name.

I suggest that you export your contacts to the internal storage or your SD-card. This can be done if you go to Contacts > Menu button (three dots) > Export contacts > Interal storage/SD-card. When this is done, go to Settings > Apps > The tab "All" > Contacts > Clear data. Do the same for Contacts Storage which also can be found under the tab "All". Import your contacts again, and see if the problem persist.

Note that after you clear data for these two, you might need to check the filter option afterwards.
