Xperia SP stuck in safe mode

I accidentally booted my phone into safe mode (don't ask, long story!) Now, although the text "SAFE MODE" does not appear at the bottom of the screen, all my purchased apps have disappeared. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling - this seems to be OK, but still no icon appears anywhere on the screen. I have re-booted several times to no avail. Please help me, this is a massive problem!

They don't appear where - In the Apps menu or on your main home screens?

Force shutdown your device(using a pen and pressing the little button on the back of your device).

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

Your phone will start in safe mode if the volume down button is pressed and hold during the start up. Does you volume down key work normally or is stuck in a 'pressed' mode?

I finally found all the apps hiding on about the 6th or 7th page when I scrolled through, they had been removed from the home screen where I previously placed them, so I thought it was still in safe mode, but clearly it wasn't, bu lt strange that they had all been removed? Ah well all.working now 🙂

I panicked too when i found my phone in safe mode and all my apps had disappeared. I had by mistake pressed the volume key at the same time as the start button but wansn't aware tjhat is what i had done. I thought i had lost everything and i decided to turn my phone off normally and on start up again aafter i had waited about a minute all my apps and phone had returned to normal thankfully. I am still not sure why the phone goes into safe mode and what it does and if anyone could enlighten me i would be grateful. Thank you in advance.
