Xperia P Bricked :(

Was just using my phone normally and all of a sudden I get a flurry of error messages all saying: "Unfortunately, ... has stopped." After this I cannot open any apps without them crashing (This includes the phone app and album).

When attempting to turn on wi-fi it gets stuck at "Turning on Wi-Fi." Also, before the incident I had only 2gb left of storage now I have 6gb which probably means a bunch of stuff got deleted.

When attempting to view my files via Sony Bridge for Mac, nothing comes just completely blank screen. I thought of factory resetting the phone, but I have important notes on the phone. I can open the notes app, but trying to view a note will result in, "Unfortunately Notes has stopped." I located where the Notes app data should be (via File Manager), but the folder did not contain anything in it.

Some help would be appreciated.

John

I have tried multiple force restarts but after it launches just comes up with a bunch of applications that have stopped working. Also when I hook myp hone up to Sony Bridge for Mac, it says it is up to date.

Unfortunately, I do not have a Windows computer handy. The mac version of PC Companion has not option to repair software. Thanks though.

if these are not working for you, download flashtool, sony xperia p stock rom and flash it again.

If you're under warranty, check it with your nearest service center.

I encountered the exact same problem. I was able to perform a factory reset, afterwards, the phone appeared to operate (I got my apps re-installed, my data & photos were still there). Happy days!

NOT! I realized the next day that Mobile Data wasn't on, so I went into Settings, and the phone just shut down completely. I thought that perhaps I didn't realize I was out of battery, so charged it up. No luck. Upon re-start, the phone will get to the multi-color whisps, and just loops that forever.

I guess I just have a beautiful shim for a table or something.
