I can't connect Xperia SP to my laptop

When I use a USB cable to connect it, nothing happens. PC Companion stops working and I can't open it. What should I do?

No, I got the phone 2 days ago, it's the first time i ever connected it.
I tried opening PC Companion now, and there was a small window that said I should restart my phone and try again (did that, not working), and if that doesn't work, I should change something to mass storage...i don't know how to do that

Settings-Xperia Connectivity-USB connectivity-USB connection mode-MSC.

It says that only SD card is available in this mode, not the internal memory. I didn't buy an SD card yet.

Any more suggestions?

No. Now it says there are no drivers, but i have PC Companion, and I can't find them on the Internet

I think it might be related to your operating system.What windows are you using?

Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit). But I don't think it's my laptops fault, my sister has a Xperia J and it connects every time

There might have been some incompatibilty issues or simply driver problems with your Windows 7.Probably a windows reinstall could have helped.But this sounds good.You do not need to give me any kudos,it is great that we found kind of a solution.
