I recently brought a Vauxhall, with Cd400 audio system with integrated Bluetooth for phone connection.

When I pair my phone before I have a chance to type 1234 it flashes Authentication failed, I can still put the code in my phone and then get it paired.

The only way I can integrate with the car is if I pick up the phone and type the number or swipe in the right place. Defeats the purpose of having buttons.

None of the buttons are able to answer can't get the directory to connect or anything but the noise comes through the speakers.

Anyone got any ideas, I did enquire to Sony about downgrading the android version because I read people have had success but Sony won't downgrade without it going into a service centre.

Winner

Help

If anyone does experience a similar issue I solved mine by manually downgrading my firmware. There is a fundamental fault in the android 4.3, firmware 205, that causes the issue I have been experiencing.

Last night I spent 1 hour down grading my phone to 4.1.2 and hey Preston all functionality on my SP and my in car audio system for making and receiving calls now works as I would have expected it too.

Thank you to Sony and Google for producing such a substandard firmware for the SP, and you are not going to be releasing any more updates for this phone, leaving it flawed.

Hi,

Thank you for sharing your experience.

I was wondering whether you would be able to share your way to manually downgrade the firmware to v4.1.2. Thanks.

It took me about 5 minutes to Google this, about 5 more minutes to find the correct generic download.

I do not remember the exactly the steps but it is detailed, in the downgrade steps I found, depending on your setup on either your phone and or your computer. I wouldn't want to try and endorse the steps I took.

It is simple but time consuming, just remember the benefits of doing this,

Your car Bluetooth will work,
your battery lifespan will increase by 50%,
some issue that 4.3 introduced will disappear.
