I keep getting the "couldn't verify update" when i try to install last update 14.4.A.0.108

Hi !
I have a Sony Xperia Z1 Compact D5503 on buil 14.3.A.0.757.

The Update center tells me I have a system update (14.4.A.0.108) to install, but, when i try it, it says that the update could not be verified.
Anybody knows what the problem is and how to correct it ?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

Is your phone connected using WiFi or mobile data when you try to update your phone? It sounds like there may be a problem with the download. Could you perhaps try this with WiFi or another WiFi network?

i'm also getting this error message. tried several times with different wifi networks but always got "couldn't verify update".

i even tried dowloading with 3g ,but nothing changed... any help?

Try clearing data for the app called Update Centre under Settings -> Apps -> All and then restart the phone and see if that helps. If not, are you able to update it using a computer?

Hello and thanks for the reply, but it didn't work. Same thing happened with no verification. pc companion says that I already have latest firmware. Any suggestions?

fixed it by doing a full restore and update... not exactly optimal, but I'll survive, might have been messing too much with my phone to get the update to run, although it wasn't rooted...

Unfortunately I have exactly same problem.

Clearing of "Update center" cache and restart not help. In logcat is also no message about problem, weird.

Update over PC Companion also not. Update start, data are downloaded and right after then, without any error update helps.

Has anyone other idea except factory reset?

unfortunatelly also pc companion failed to update. everything was downloaded correctly but when update started immediately failed...:smileycry:...

i'm moving to factory reset and see what happens...

just a heads up to this matter. i tried updating through Sony Mobile Update Service (http://www.sonymobile.com/gr/tools/update-service/) and worked like a charm. phone is now updated to 14.4.A.0.108. So try to update through this service and NOT through Pc Companion. Hope it helps....

Sorry I didn't reply before, I thought I'd receive an e-mail when people answer here.

Anyway, the problem solved itself : I tried another few times and, suddenly, it worked (over LTE). So it must have been a network problem, indeed.

For me the problem was solved after I went into Settings - Apps - Disabled and re-enabled every single app there (I have disabled a few I don't need before). After that update verified and installed successfully
