SMS not working after lollipop update

I've update my Xperia Z to 5.0.2 yesterday.
All seems fine, no qualms abt new U.I..
However found that my SMS not working.
As in I can only view the summary page but when I tap into the message to reply, all's blank..

Tries sending a test sms out but it shows "Could not send"

Anyone can help on this?

Tried:
1) Hard Reset
2) Clear Data; Force Stop; Disable then Enable the app
But still same.

Needless to say abt restoring frm Backup as it states diff format thus nt supported..

Tried Repair via PCC, it worked when phone rebooted in default.

Subsequently back to problem when restoring from handphone's backup app..

Can someone frm Sony please advise?????

Doesnt help even using 3rd party SMS apps, I can view & send nw, bt cant received at all!!

I am having a very similar problem, where the app won't even load one of two things happen I get a black screen or it looks like it's will load and it says messages at the top but then never loads

I am facing the same issue as well. Unable to read, receive, delete or send sms. Has anyone found solution to this problem?

Did Lollipop update for my Xperia Z (C6603) and now the messeging app is not working!!!! Sony plz release an update soon ...

Called Sony CS Singapore, was told the SMS app is corrupted thus causing the problem.

Only way was to Backup w/o the SMS app, do the FDR again, then Restore the rest of apps.
However all previous SMS gone & start it afresh.

Since the new version with lollipop, I can't have any access to my messages. I don't receive them and when I want to open the app, white screen.
Please, help me.

settings > apps > all > messaging > clear data > restart the phone

Installing a new messaging app (in my case Textra) did the job for me. Finally, sending and receiving SMS works again.

I tried the GoSMS pro app and it also didn't work, but then I also got TEXTRA and now I'm back in busyness.

Hey!

I have the same issue on my Sony Phone. It would state "message not sent" after I updated to lollipop. I have verizon, so I tried using "Message +" by Verizon and that works great!
