at the begining, hotspot can share the internet but after less than a few minutes the client can not connect anymore. Please, fix this issue, Thank you.

I have same problem. After update the hotspot is useless. Changing settings won't help.

Ditto....my hotspot will connect, but the speed is terrible. Connection is unstable and Upload speed is faster than download speed....FIX please!

Same issues here.

for iOS device, after the iOS device connect to the hotspot, it keep disconnect and reconnect.

for laptop. It state connected, but I've got 30%+ packet loss

Yes my other devices Canon connect to hotspot too, but the speed and the packet loss iso horrible. My phone gets over 90mb/s speed on the 4g, but the devices connected to hotspot gets 0,22mb/s. Upload is over 4mb/s...

well that's one against the rest of us....can anyone else say the hotspot is working fine? I'm not on a fixed ip address, never used a fixed ip address.

why would a fixed ip address affect hotspot speeds? If anything fixed ip addresses tend to create a faster connection with a router/wireless hotspot. I can see how it might affect connecting multiple devices though. The update is 100 % the issue. I've tested my SIM in my Z Ultra and the hotspot is working properly on it. I also tested the hotspot on my XZ in safe mode, where it still performed badly and wonky. Those two tests rule out service provider issues and third party app issues. Both tests were performed multiple times after two separate software repairs (as suggested by Sony Xperia Support) and one Factory Data Reset, therefore narrowing down the issues to the 41.2.A.7.53 OTA update that my F8332 downloaded and installed three days ago. Prior to that update (I believe it was a 10 MB update, a security patch if I recall correctly) the hotspot worked as intended. Immediately after that update the hotspot did not work. So, all those tests confirm that the most recent OTA is to blame.

Support has elevated my case and I'm currently waiting till Tuesday to receive a response before I call back. meanwhile I'll be using USB tethering (which works) or switching SIM to Z Ultra to use wifi tethering.

If you have news from Xperia Support regarding this issue please post it. If you aren't having an issue I'm willing to bet you have a different OTA update than the one I received (i.e. my F8332 is the International Chinese version). I'm thinking I'll just downgrade to marshmallow until this issue is resolved.

I got the same problem here with 41.2.A.7.53, but hotshop works fine with previous firmware version. Sony please fix that ASAP, this bothers me very much and I am losing faith in this brand.

I also tried to connect via Bluetooth, it remain the same, very un-stable connection of hotspot, seems not temp solution now.... T_T

USB Tethering works. if you're familiar with flashtool/Xperifirm you could flash a previous build. that's what I did until they fix it.

after the latest software update a portable hotspot on my Xpeeria XZ doesn't work properly - it is keeping shutting down in a few minutes after turning it on. As I was able to check, I have no limitations in data usage, neither battery.

Just bought XZ and the problem makes me mad. Im so close to return this. Hotspot drops every time when my phone connects to internet (whatsapp message, youtube notification, facebook. etc.). Sony, you must keep on your promises and fix the problem asap. There is a lot of other brands offering the same things as you do.

Get your sh*t together and fix this problem.
