XZ2 Compact - remove network lock when there's no prompt

My new XZ2 Compact has a network lock according to the Service Info (see pic). I have the official unlock code but find no way to enter it. There is no prompt to do so after putting in a SIM (any SIM, different networks). Searching the web suggests that entering #987654321# should trigger a prompt, but that also does not work.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

hello @Mark1900

is the new sim card from a different network provider? does it acquire signal when you insert it? , try to insert the simcard, and restart your device

Hi @MarlonUk1.

Thanks for your response. It's a new phone and I tried multiple sims from several operators. No signal (bars). Restarting with or without sims gives no change in symptoms. Cheers.

Try this:

Goto settings, search reset, choose reset network settings, reboot.

The SIM card should be re-initialised by your provider, auto.
