You can try safe mode, and a factory reset follows, just to be sure that it's a hardware issue if not resolved afterwards.

Data transfer Sony Xperia XZ2 broken?

Hi,

My phone, Xperia XZ2, won't connect with my PC and car anymore. If I connect the phone using USB cable, no USB icon shows up in the status bar and the PC does not recognize any device. When connected with PC it is charging.

I've tried everything. Like use different cables, use different PC, reboot phone, removing SD card, clean USB port and turning on developer mode and USB debugging (with no result).

The moment the problem started was during a long road trip while my phone was with USB connected to my car and Android Auto was active. After 8 hours of driving the car/Android Auto gave a connection failure, i had to 'use another cable or USB port'. Since then (months ago) i can't connect with Android Auto but also can't connect with my PC for data transfer.

Is it posible that a factory reset is gonna solve this? Or does it look slike a hardware problem or a broken Dataport? Can a broken dataport be repaired?

Thnx from the Netherlands,

Justin
