For those who are on the T-Mobile U.S. carrier - DO NOT update your Sony Xperia 10 VI (XQ-ES72) to the latest May 2025's firmware (70.1.A.3.188). This will revert the phone back to the same issue we encountered 5 months ago with 70.0.A.3.194, where 4G LTE and 5G NR are disabled on the network once again! The phone would only connect you to 2G EDGE, and the speed is painfully slow!

I thought the developers had learned from their previous mistakes by fixing this issue which worked fine for the past 2 system updates, but it seems like they just released another faulty firmware that bricked T-Mobile U.S. data once more!

New user, love the phone design and hardware quality but software has issues.

1. Support App is pointless none of the options allow for submitting feedback and the direct to the Sony website from it shows a broken web page. It can't be disabled.
2. The battery management app creates notifications on plug/unplug, this conflicts with Android's option to disable charge sounds. Due to this I've had to disable the App.
3. Almost every app, even the clock, needs Google Play Services. Disabling creates a ton of warnings some (like from the Phone App) can't be disabled. I have however managed to replace all of them with FDroid alternatives.
4. The screen wakes on plug/unplug. It's 2024 and still Sony haven't implemented this!

2 and 4 are important to me.

1. You can send the feedback using the 3 dots at the top right corner after opening the Support app.

2. Is this a pre-installed app?

3. If it's a pre-installed app you need the Google services to update it, other than that I guess you can control the notification from the settings of each app.

4. For the screen waking up this is what's mentioned on the manual of your mobile: https://helpguide.sony.net/mobile/xperia-10m6/v1/en/contents/turn_screen_on_off.html?search=Wake%20up%20display

Apologies for my delay.

1. The support App opens up a website page which is broken.
2. Yes
3. As stated, the notifications are locked - no control.

4. Not what I asked so please save the AI answers.

Hi @acsnoopy, you can contact Sony support directly to raise your feedback as a voice of a customer. An alternative way to the app you've disabled, you can follow the steps here to adjust the battery usage settings: https://helpguide.sony.net/mobile/xperia-10m6/v1/en/contents/battery_power_manage.html?search , correct me if I misunderstood. Or you can turn the "Do not disturb mode" on: https://helpguide.sony.net/mobile/xperia-10m6/v1/en/contents/limit_interruption_do_not_disturb.html?search

After installing the 70.1.A.3.188 firmware, my Xperia 10 Vi stopped working on T-Mobile US network.

The SIM information is shown as T-Mobile, but the phone says "No

service. Emergency calls only."

I can't make/receive calls.

Data doesn't work.

The SIM works fine with calls and data with another phone.

Before installing this firmware, calls, data, and SMS worked fine with the 10 Vi on T-mobile US network. Therefore, I believe the new firmware disabled the service on the T-mobile US network.

I sincerely hope the fix will be released soon.
