Sometimes the screen turns into black when turning phone from standing position to horizontal. ???? Often when in bright daylight situations. ???

Test the proximity sensor

settings > about phone > diagnostics > test > test proximity sensor

I'm sorry to hear about that, must be very frustrating.

Is the display darker or does it turn off completetly and you have to use the power button to turn on the display again?

If it goes darker and you are still able to see something on your display, please try and turn off the auto brightness setting in your phone and see if experience the same behaviour. You can turn this setting off in Settings > Display > Adaptive brightness.

As @uliwooly recommened, please try the proximity sensor in your phone and the light sensor.

Tks for problem solution tip. However it's OK now. Happens only occasionally but noticed it's in bright sunlight. Like if sensor is affected?

I'm so sorry for the late reply.

If you notice this happening again in bright sunlight, could you run the diagnostics tests for ear proximity and light sensor while the phone is still in bright sunlight and see how it's working?
