Language selection pops up after every boot.

After every reboot, I first get the language selection option. Not a big problem, but I prefer not to have to select the language every time.

Anyone any ideas how to switch this off?

What happens if you try your phone with another SIM-card? Also make sure that it's a micro SIM and not a mini SIM that's been cut.

Thxs Rickard, will try what you suggest. I started using the phone without a SIM in place, maybe that has something to do with it? Would a factory reset help?

And what's the technical difference between a cut mini SIM and a micro SIM in this case. I now have a "real" micro SIM, but started with a cut mini SIM.

Sometimes the chip itself can differ in size and contact surface.

I remember this from way back, and if changing the SIM won't do the trick I suggest that you try reinstalling the phone software. That should definitely fix this.

My phone does this also, but i bought my phone as sim free and i had my original sim card cut to fit the micro profile used on the Z1.

Hi Johan,

Just updated the software (after an incredible slow download of 700mb), but it's still the same. Will now try the factory reset and really hope I don't need to do the download again (with the phone connected to USB during the whole time!).

Finally did a factory reset which indeed solved the problem. Thxs all for the help.

kinda sad but i really dont feel like doing a factory reset at the moment ;( might wait till the next update to do so... dont wanna muck around with my settings just yet.

Hi, new here.

This is happening to me too. I also started to use the phone on wi-fi before I had a SIM, could it be because of this? It's a proper micro-SIM, not a cut one. I presume doing the factory reset will wipe everything, all the settings, customisations, etc, and you'd have to start from scratch?

any new data regarding this problem ?

resetting the phone to factory defaults after you install lots of apps, setups and customizations.. is not a good answer (especially if it's not even 100% sure it will help).

I also noticed that other values are also reverted to default after boot, in my example, the pulsating notification led setup, in the display settings.

I selet it, and the next time I do a hard reset, it is unselected... (soft restart doesn't cause it).

looks like a software bug in Sony's code.
