i can't update my phone via OTA. i've tried so many times to update using this method and yes OTA is available in my region now(Malaysia). my current firmware is Android 4.2.2 14.1.G01.534 (rooted). i understand i can update using SUS/Pc companion but it would remove my root. does anyone know what is wrong with my device/software?

Nothing,if you are trying to use network for update it might fail, the speed is too low for the update size.It is recommended to update via wifi or pc.

As per above you are going to need to run a software repair via PC Companion to reload your software which as you are aware will remove the root access you have, however there is not another option that is likely to get around this sorry:

1. Download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
and install it on your PC.
2. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
3. Phone Software Update.
4. Start.
5. Repair Phone
6. Continue
7. Accept data removal
8. Next
9. Wait for prepare
10. Select Phone
11. Follow the connection steps

guess i have to accept the fact that OTA doesn't work for this region although its has been made available. i've checked with another 2 owners and they confirmed the same situation i'm experiencing. updated through PC Companion, everything runs smoothly and i don't need to wipe any data or what so ever. thank you all for the help and suggestions.
