Xperia Z Screen won't turn off

When i play videos/share screen by connecting my Xperia Z phone with my SONY KDL 42W800B TV using THROW feature and once i disconnect from TV. The phone screen gets dim but won't Turn OFF after specified time as we i set it for 15 seconds.

If i press the power button, then the screen goes OFF. But again when i operate the phone and leave it, screen won't turn off.

This goes on till i reboot the phone. Once after reboot the phone screen turn off normally.

Please try running a software repair to potentially resolve this:

1. Download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
and install it on your PC.
2. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
3. Phone Software Update.
4. Start.
5. Repair Phone
6. Continue
7. Accept data removal
8. Next
9. Wait for prepare
10. Select Phone
11. Follow the connection steps

Problem got solved once i updated phone with latest kitkat firmware

now the phone screen turn off normally after disconnecting from screen mirroring with my Sony TV

Well this is rich - I downloaded Xperia companion on my laptop in order to fix the problem of my Sony Xperia not turning off after a software update - and the software is asking me to "turn off the device and wait for 5 seconds". Super. Now if only I could turn off the device so the repair program could help me with the issue of not being able to turn off the device....
