My Sony Xperia Z won't start /turn on after failed update attempt

When I plug the phone into the wall charger, the LED comes on red, the SONY logo appears on my screen, followed by a message indicating that "The Software update failed. Make sure that your phone is connected to the computer and try again.", and then the phone turns itself off. The cycle repeats itself with no indication that my phone's actually being charged.

Fully switch off your phone and make sure it is disconnected from your Pc then start PC Compannion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue select Repair my phone /tablet and follow the onscreen instructions and when prompted making sure your phone is still switched off hold Volume down and connect your USB cable which should enter your phone into flashmode and start the repair process

when i reach to the downloading step the downloading going freeze and didn't move for a millimeter although i followed the recommended steps ....what's the problem with that .....and how i can know that the battery is totally dead ?.....How to make the phone to charge without restarting ?,,Pls help me

what's up sony experts you provide us with kitkat from pc download after following instructions the process gave false result and the mobile just give sony then error message then black screen continuously.

are'nt you aware about customers

I tried sus gives false after 923 mb download .

pc companion repaire my device each time downlad large files and give false result.

flash tool gives a false result.

are'nt you experts enough?!!

Sony Xperia Z is my business phone. It won't work now, due to the failure in the software update process. As far as I know, I can't restart my phone without losing my private data, including business contacts. This is the last product I will ever buy from Sony!

n im alredy tried the steps u say,, bt still nothing happened with my xperia z,

its showing {Device update Error! an error has occured and the device software update was cancelled . --------- tryagain}
bt i tring n tring,,,,, nothing is happaning .
plz help.... is it possible to recover my xperia z ????

Very useful solution , just one more thing , after installing sony companion , and try to solve the update failed problem , the update process not complete and the error coming again , what i do i try the instruction like you and the sony companion said , i go to windows safe mod with network access ( F8 after restart windows ) and do all the instruction , and in the second try the problem solved , that is android kitkat 4.44 after 3 Annoying day .

Hey there everyone, i know a lot of people are saying that they plug there phone into the computer and PC companion does the job for you. my problem is that my xperia Z has a broken charging port so when i plug it in to anything it doesnt charge. To charge my phone i am using a cradle charger but plugging that into the computer the phone is not recognised. does anyone know a way to slove the failed update error without using a computer or is my phone completly f*****? all repliees will be gladly recived. thanks and sorry for the langueage and poor spelling

I receive this screen and now the pc companion is not able to detect and the phone is not able to power up with the 3 vibration way.

I believe the flashload is now corrupt.

Hello, have you solved this? i have the same screen, and it loops when I connect to the wall charger. I have tried to enter on fastboot and tried to use pc companion to repair but the pc does not detect the device.

What can i do?
