I suggest that you to run your phone in safe mode for a while to check if you still experience this. If not this may be caused by any downloaded application.
How to boot into safe mode?

Hello Johan, thanks for the reply. One thing I have found that this is intentional in every mobile phone. When I have incoming calls the sensor don't works but when I answer the call the sensor works normally. This is a bit annoying that sometimes by mistake my calls get rejected before I take out phone from my pocket. I guess only solution for problem is that is to buy a case for my phone. TY.

I have the same problem, very disturbing to explain to customers that the proximity sensor has some issue that is not repaired in updates! I found out today that during a call, the proximity SENSOR DOES NOT WORK WHEN THE PHONE IS TILTED 45DEG OR MORE, like you often do when the phone is on your shoulder and you press it against your ear. Please, anyone, how can this be fixed? My proximity sensor works fine in all angles when testing, but during a call it doesn't work when the phone is tilted - is there a connection to another sensor during a call?
