    <description>&lt;P&gt;ok i was able to get it working by not connecting the phone upon starting PC Companion. I left firewall and antivirus turned on. I could not find any registry settings to stop the product looking for updates. Strange scenario, but not unusual for computers. cheers&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I know there are similar posts here, but no real solutions. Essentially i can't use PC Companion without it trying to update itself, which fails to download and then sits there until "Installation Error" or i close it. The updating functionality is not even independant of the actual app (very poorly written piece of software).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I would be happy with even a work around so i could use PC Companion.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;thanks in advance&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Robert&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Your system is compatible and requires no changing of settings - So the only thing I can think of is that your AV or firewall is blocking it in some way&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;yeh i rebooted both devices, and also turned both antivirus and firewall, still the same result.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Is there a registry setting i can modify to stop it looking for new updates??&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;My PC Companion on Windows 7 64bit keeps trying to update and each time it gives the error :&amp;nbsp;access is denied pccservice.exe.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have to then clean the system of all sony software and reinstall pc companion ( which means fresh sync of all my contacts etc.). Is there any way to ignore updates or is there a way to download the complete updated installion file.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
