Hello,

I don't know if this is a normal film protection and I should remove it or if it is a manufacturing defect. Please see attached photo of my Z2 lens. Do you have some advice?

So you polished out the UV-A filter... great job
Good that camera is sharp and clear anyway, but don't spread that tip allover the net. Lens and glassess need UV A filter (bluish tint foliage). Removing it is just a temporary trick to clean the lens, the cover glass should be replaced for new one in some time.

I had this problem before, I rubbed my camera lens with fibercloth and toothpaste for about 2 minutes and it dissapeared. Later, I noticed that lens are scratched and I think that it shows up on my picture quality... They are not that sharp as they used to be. How much would it cost to replace them?

I used a car polish paste, not the hard scratch remover just a regular paste with wax, the scratches seem lighter and they don't appear on sunlight photos.

To replace the glass you would need to buy the whole back pannel and DIY with removing the old one which can be tricky. You'll need a very hot air stream and some plastic tools to remove the old back panel and original Sony seal to keep it waterproof after change, for me it's to risky I'll stay with scratched lenses as long the photos and movies are not corrupted.
