I thought it was compulsory bloatware, and I think I am right it is not in the all app list so it cannot be disabled or uninstalled, by a normal user at least and rooting the phone even with the sony supplied tools will void the warranty.

I am sure it has been raised lots of times here and all over the internet, but maybe another nudge will help.

I do not care about all the wierd and wonderfull workarounds, or testing dozens of SD cards to find one that works, I just want it gone, it and 'walkman'.

I had a phone that had remarkable battery life, I did not even need to engage stamia mode to get more than a day out of it, then I foolishly copied a few hundred songs to the phone with MediaGo.

Now my battery life is trashed, now even while I sleep walkman and media server drain the battery.

Getting rid of all the hopeless bloatware would be good, but at the very least please make it possible to kill off walkman and mediaserver.

Did the ".nomedia" trick from the thread, that made things a lot better.

To be doubly sure I have also disabled 'walkman', there is an app called media storage, could that be the media server thing.

Will all of this mean I cannot use MediaGo to wirelessly put content on my phone, I am trying to never open then waterproof panel over the USB port.

Any good replacements for mediago?

Chris

Not sure about the google option.

Presumably the same lame sync engine they use in google drive, so the chances of 30+ GB of music getting there is slim.

Then in the future silly letters along the lines of, prove you still have CD X or about that bootleg live recording...
