Incoming call became "Unknown" and problems that follows

Greetings forumers,:smileyhappy:

First of all,I apologize if this problems have been discussed before,but it seems that I found nothing within my earthly power during searching for my problems solution.:smileyworried:

Ok,let get onto it.I'm using Xperia Z1 that I bought this April,and after about 3-4 months of use (during mid-june/July,IRC)

,my incoming contact became "unknown".It is listed as "unknown" even when I'm recieving calls so I don't know who's calling me,nor I would see their numbers.But surprisingly if I try to call someone, it is listed as what I would save them in contacts,and stay that way in call log.And yeah I forgot to mention incoming call would also listed as "unknown" in call log.

I've tried almost everything within my,urm homosapien power to fix it.

But ofc I'm not really a tech-savvy brain so perhaps there some I haven't tried yet.

Here what I've tried:

-Only using save-on-device contact.

-Only using SIM card's contact

-Deleting all contacts and copying it back from another device/backup.

-Restart phone

-Deleting all contacts and adding it back manually (saving it back numbers by numbers,typed by hand,yes very tedious infact)

-Factory reset

-Factory reset before trying all above

Despite of trying for infinite times of all those efforts,my Z1 still being cursed by this problems coming from the B72th floor of Gehenna purgatory.:smileycry:

I felt like satan is tempting to give up my phone to him.

Still have Sony warranty

I'm really frustrated by this hellish prolly,missing important call and not being able to call back since it was listed as "unknown".

I really love my phone but sometime having this curse felt like it's killing me.

Let me know if you need any information to help,I would gladly offer anything in my power.

Hi merrel,

Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

You may want to try contacting your network carrier, as this option is a network based option and may have been changed on your account with them, This can be with Prepaid SIM cards as well as Contract SIM cards

I suggest doing this first.

After repairing the phone through PCC,the problem still exist.

Then I tried another SIM card on my phone,and the problem magically disappear!

Really,I haven't tried this option since I don't think it would be network carrier based problem.

I'll gonna deal with carrier service next.

It really help!

So did you contact your mobile company? And they fixed it?
