topic XPERIA Z NFC SENSOR in Z Series

In my "refurbished" Xperia Z there is something wrong with NFC sensor. I must touch the other phones with NFC upside down for connection. Is it possible to fix it? Is it easy or difficult otherwise cheap or expensive?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

The NFC technology has a maximum range of one centimetre, so the devices need to be close to each other. But it sounds very strange that you need to hold it upside down for connection since it uses radio frequencies. Have you tried to use the NFC function with more than one device?

I still have 3 other phones with NFC i.e. XPERIA SP and two NOKIA C7. They connect normally with each other only the new XPERIA Z must be turned upside down with all 3 other phones.

I would like to add that my 3 other phones do not connect with each other when one of them is turned upside down.

Now I know what is the problem that I had to reverse XPERIA Z upside down. In XPERIA Z NFC area is in upper part of back cover whilst in XPERIA SP the area is in lower part of back cover!!! Thank you.

I apologize that I did not mention that. But I'm glad to hear that it was solved!
