I already had older Xperias , and I had problems with the compatibility of headphones ... when the headphone that came with it stopped working , no other headphone I bought worked right . I saw that the Xperia Z3 Compact , at least where I live, comes with a simple phone , and the other from Sony are well expensive for me , as for example one with noise reduction. Would anyone tell me if I have this problem with the Xperia Z3 Compact ? Any headphone that works with him and that is accessible and good do you recommend ? PS : I live in Brazil . Thanks.

Hi,

I'm not sure which headset/headphones you have tried with your older Xperia. But there is only one standard when it comes to headphones (no mic) so any 3.5mm should work. If you are looking for a headset with a mic, the headset needs to follow the CTIA standard to be compatible with Z3 Compact.

These headsets will work fine with Z3 Compact:
http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/products/accessories/stereo-headset-mh750/
http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/products/accessories/smart-headset/
http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/products/accessories/stereo-headset-mh-ex300ap/

Note that, if you are going to purchase a headset from a third party manufacturer you would do best by checking with the manufacturer to see if they have tested and can guarantee that they are compatible. Some headsets may require more power than the phone can deliver.

Which headset are you using/have you tried with? I used to have an Xperia SP and I had to replace the headset because the volume on one side was much lower. Just buy a new one. The MH750 costs less than £5 on Amazon.co.uk. I don't know where you live but you should be able to buy one cheaply.

Try cleaning out the headphone jack with a toothpick. I was having the same issue and used a toothpick and found a lot of lint. My phone is usually in my pants pocket so it must have picked up lint inside. My headphones work now.

I have tried using a TRRS external mic, a TRS external mic into a TRS to TRRS adaptor and each of these going into a TRRS Apple to TRRS

Nokia adaptor. At no point has either of the mics been compatible with the phone's camera. Seems a bit of a mess?!?!?!?!?
