Hi I have bought Xperia z3 for 2 months. I have just noticed something that might be a problem with my camera.
I am not sure whether anyone has experienced the same thing.

In camera mode (both video and camera) sometime the screen shows soft black wave running from top to bottom (for more understanding about "black wave" just like when you focus the camera on TV screen). However I didn't focus my camera on TV screen anymore. The problem last for 1-5 minutes. When this problem occurred If I go on and take a photo sometime the wave could be captured into my photo as well but mostly these running black wave can not be captured into the photo.

(I have attached a photo taken when the running black wave problem occurred and this time it was captured in my photo.

Anyone experienced the same issue? Is this the problem with software or my camera hardware problem? So stress

Methee

remark

- my camera len is not dirty anymore, it is perfect clean

- my English is not good so apologize

Sorry to hear this but you would need to either return your device to the place of purchase or contact Xperia care and have this inspected http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/

Thank you for all the comments, today there is no running black wave problem (just like I said it happened sometime)

Hi Thommo thank you for your comment. I live in Thailand but this phone was purchased outside Thailand, I heard that Thai Sony Service Center will not do any repair for the phone that is not purchased in Thailand. Anyway I will contact them.

Hi Uliwooly, there is no scratches on the lens, it is perfect clean and clear.

Methee
Common problem on almost ALL phones
It's because of the fluorescent lighting in that room
Flourescent tube lights pulse light and cause those bars coming up from bottom in waves.
I normally will select a different iso and change metering to centre or spot to sort it.

@viridis thank you very much!!! And so apologise for my late reply!!. You are right! I noticed also that the problem mostly happened when I shot the photo inside the building with fluorescent on the ceiling.

I tried on other smartphone and found the same, but Xperia z3 seems to be more sensitive in this case and when the problem happened it tend to happen longer, sometime up to 3 minutes which made me unable to snap a photo. Sony should upgrade its firmware for this issue too.

Thanks everyone! And especially Viridis

Methee

You wanna see even more fun, take a burst shot under Flourescent light, 1 in every 3-4 images will be yellow, one will be too blue and one should be just right lol
