Hi..i've just updated my z3 yesterday. After the update, i've notice that there are no shortcut to silent my phone. I have to go to setting to do it.

I also miss them a shortcut to mute the sound as it was before upgrading to Android 5.0.
Are Sony going to fix this problem soon?

Please use the search button before creating threads that have been answered before. To switch sound schemes,just press volume button up or down (if the case).

When you do press volume a bar appears then tap on silent, normal or priority

Hi,

Of course pressing the side button for sound I can mute the sound, but the point is that I liked shortcut access the sound that came with the kit kat Android 4.4.4
And so I still miss such access.

I can't believe that you think this is the solution. Not only did you ask him to use the search button before creating threads that have been answered before, but you gave an answer that doesn't solve the issue. He didn't say, "I can't put my phone on silent anymore." He said, "there is no longer a shortcut to put my phone on silent." Completely different things. I guess I just expect better from a Sony representative.

I am not a sony representative,but he puts it this way: I can't put it on silent and he wants a shortcut. Lollipop is designed differently,so people have to see the difference and adapt to it.

Again, they didn't say they couldn't put it on silent. They are saying they don't have a shortcut to silence their phone. They are asking on the Sony Support Forums if this is going to be fixed. Simply saying they have to adapt to it doesn't seem like a good way of solving an issue. I understand you are trying to provide an answer, but at times it is better to say, "The shortcut was removed and I don't know if it will be coming back. Try contacting Sony directly."

The reason I have interjected is because my cell phone provider has finally allowed for my phone to be updated but this is a shortcut that I also always use. Being able to silence my phone from the lock screen is a big feature for me.

Use Volume Down or Volume Up butoons to access sound options:

- Silent

- Priority (customizable in settings)

- Sound

- Vibrate (press on BELL icon)

The missing volume shortcut was the first annoying change I noticed & complained about to Sony after the Lollipop update. It was on MY home screen for a reason. I don't like the way I am now forced to adapt to the changes. I liked My phone the way I adapted it. for MY personal use. I bought my Z2 because I liked it's features & now they're mostly gone! What right do they have to change MY settings & take away favourite,much used shortcuts? OUR choices are being taken & replaced with THEIR demands. If they had given me the phone I wouldn't mind but MY money paid for it. What if I were to tell them their favourite white wine must now be a vinegary red after they'd paid?!! I'd be sacked! I am also annoyed that I can't delete multiple photos from the album app. 1 by 1? I ask you? I seriously don't have the time or patients for that...I am very disappointed with Sony & very sorry I put my trust in them to improve MY/THEIR device.

Hi, i'm a very big media consumer on my phone, and after the lollipop update i faced a very bad experience, the "silence" "vibration" "sound" buttons that were in the prompt that appeared after pushing the power button for a while are no more, and the problem is that whenever i'm listening to music i have to take out my phone, turn it on, and go to settings just to make it on vibration mode, which's kind of a hassle, is there any way i don't know about to do that with a shortcut ? If not, that's a shameful loss for android, i would like to have such buttons back into xperia devices.
