Can not switch Z3 to LTE mode.

Hi. I bought a new Xperia Z3 from Canadian carrier Wind Mobile. They do not have LTE service. After 3 weeks of horrible service, I bought the phone out, and moved over to Virgin Mobile, (which does have LTE), I had My Z3 unlocked, put in the proper APN, and the phone will not switch to LTE, in fact there is not even an option to switch to it. (in Settings, more, mobile network, network mode). I went into (*#*#7378423#*#*) Service settings, network mode... I see LTE settings here, but when I select it, it will not switch, it always goes back to WCDMA_PREF. Is there a way to get my phone to switch to LTE mode?

Do you have the correct APN settings? which model do you have? Settings > about phone

Yes. I do have the proper APN settings. My phone model is D6603.

Your phone's LTE frequencies

LTE 700/800/850/900/1700/1800/1900/2100/2600 (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 13, 17, 20) - D6603

Let me see if I can find the LTE frequencies in Canda (Virgin Mobile)

Yes. I am in their LTE Zone. I know it is something in my phone, as I had the sim card in my Nexus 5 phone, and it was in LTE zone.

Just in case you are not familiar with Wind Mobile in Canada. They are basically the "Bargain Basement Carrier" here. They run on old towers, and system. So I assumed that they had the LTE capability locked out. (This is how my "trucker-mind" figures it is) Lol

Interesting WIND mobile doesn't have any LTE coverage

This is what I think, that your phone is still network branded to WIND mobile, you should flash the global generic firmware and then try again.

That's correct. I believe they have plans for LTE in the next few years.

Ok... Will I find that on the Sony site? And will that wipe my phone? And am I able to do that Stock/Un-Rooted?

Flashtool on the above link its a third party program not from Sony, Sony has its own software BUT you will have to unlock the bootloader, not worth it, just download

Flashtool

FTF (firmware)

and follow the steps

It's quite simple

It will delete everything on your phone.

No. I can not get flashtool to work on my computer. It won't start up. It keeps going into a loop, so the program won't start.

What if you re-download flashtool and try again, also check if you have the latest java
