Microphone Problem only in Regular Calls| Lolipop 5.0.2

Hi everyone,

I have Z1 for one year, and it was really nice time, recently i upgrade to Lolipop 5.0.2, but then the mic stop working good.

If i make or recieve a normal call, the other side can not hear me well, the vocie is bad and sometime its gone totally.

But if i try to recode a voice or movie or even make an internet call using Watts App or Facebook massenger, the mic is okay and fine.

Only in regular call it stop working good.

Any help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear friends,
After recently updating my Xperia Z1 to the updated version of 🍭 lollipop just a couple of days ago, people whom I call or people who call me have informed me that thay can't hear my voice properly and have breaking **bleep** echo like effect. This is similar to the one when we get an intermittent radio signal while we tune into a radio station or move away from the signal range. I checked the microphone (🎤) under the diagnostics menu and observed it to be working perfectly fine. Does any one else have a similar problem? And also does any have a remedy to this please?

Try to put your sim to another device or other's sim to your device and check again. Do this just to get a better idea whether its a fault in device or sim.

I would try what you suggest, but I am skeptical about it's success. As I have not changed my phone or sim in the last 6 months and my phone was working uninterrupted since, I really have my own doubts on the device or SIM. This fault has appeared just after I upgraded my phone to the latest version of lollipop 🍭 rolled out on 20th may 2015. This roll out was an extension to the earlier/first release of lollipop 🍭 for Xperia Z1

Sorry man i can't advice you more then this. Just for the record I have Z1C (lollipop version) and my sim is at most 7-8 yrs old and i have never faced such problems. I think only a professional can guide you further. Best of luck.

P.S. Also try to do a system repair with pcc may be it has something to do with the update. And don't forget to back up your data

Thanks for your advice. I will also once try re inserting the sim. May be it works. No harm in giving a try.

Hello friends,
I have changed the network mode to "WCDMA (PREFERRED)/GSM" from"GSM" mode since today morning. Till now no has indicated the "voice breaking" problem. In fact, when I asked, they have confirmed that the voice is fine and they can hear me uninterrupted.

I am facing similar issue for the last four days.people on the other end of the li.e are complaining that my voice is breaking but I am able to hear them clearly.I am not sure what the problem Is.For my pho e the setting was already set to WCDMA (PREFERRED) /GSM. Please tell me if u can arrive at a solution

Thanks for replying, but before reinstalling Lolipop again, I woundered if the PC companion can backup everything in my mobile including all What's App chatting, massaging, and all samll things, i want my mobile to return exactly the same, after restoring the files, if not, i would be a very hard time for me

if you did it before, can you please share your experiance?

No, it will delete everything. You should backup your phone with the Backup & Restore app.

Hi Sony_Z1, welcome to the community!

Exactly what contents will be backed up may differ depending on phone model. You can view detailed information about this as you follow the steps in the Backup & Restore wizard. PC Companion does not back up apps/games, to restore them back on the phone just log into Play Store with the same acount you used to previously download your apps > tap the three lines in the top left hand corner > tap My apps > from there you should be able to tap Install on the apps you wish to have back on your handset.

It'll be wise to create a backup of Whatsapp and move it to the SD card.
