My new phone prompted me to transfer all my photos and videos to my sd card. I said OK and the transfer started and finished. But all the files the phone put on my sd card now
seem corrupt. All the names and file sizes are there but I can't view on the phone or via a pc.

Help! How can I get the data back? I have tried to use undelete software but I need root access to the phone and currently this seems unavailable.

Is there an official Sony way to get my data back that the Sony phone seems to have made a real mess of?

I have got some thumbnail images back with an app but it can't see \ fine the real images.

Thanks,

Terry

I'm sorry to hear that but perhaps you have a faulty SD card, open the file commander app > SD card > DCIM > 100ANDRO check if your pictures are here.

The SD card my very well be faulty. All the files are there but they simply will not open, on a PC or via the phone.

Anyone know who to "undelete"? I know it can be done if I have root access but I can't seem to get this without formating the internal memory that will destroy the data anyway...

Thanks,

Terry

It's not an SD card issue...

Myself and another friend whom also has the Z3 compact have the same issue.

I take pictures/videos... I can view immediately but after 1 or several days later random photo's disappear and random videos don't play (the thumbnail of pic/vid is replaced by one that looks like a mountain logo... ie damaged).

Seems to me like a software issue...

I have formatted and updated software on 3 occasions as advised... but no joy

I'm on the brink... either I get a new phone that works or Never Sony again!

Ironically, the main reason I chose Sony was for its Pic/Vid capability... I mustn't have prayed enough or something, I'm being punished.
