Bluetooth Compatibility on Sony Xperia Z1C

I recently purchased the Panasonic SCPM250B Bluetooth Micro System, and I would like to know if I will require to purchase an adaptor as it says this on the spec compatibility for bluetooth:

This device uses the Apple Lightning Connector which is compatible with 5th Generation Apple devices and onwards. If you do not have a 5th Generation device or newer, you will need an adaptor (sold separately).

I am unsure what they mean as I thought that bluetooth worked wirelessly.

You are correct in that Bluetooth is a wireless connection. Apple uses the so called Lightning connector instead of using micro USB so it is a type of cable and shouldn't really be related to Bluetooth in this case.

It might be worth contacting Panasonic directly about this though, if possible, to be sure that you receive correct information about.

So the lightening connector should work with my iPod?

Is Micro USB similar to if I were to put some mp3's on a use stick then insert that stick into the Panasonic USB as it has this apparently.

Micro USB only refers to the size of the connector on the USB cable. In the case of the cable that comes included with the Xperia Z1 Compact it has a micro connector in one end, the one that plugs into the phone itself, and a standard USB connector in the other end, that goes in the charger/a PC.

I'm afraid I don't know if your iPod will be able to connect to this device. If you are uncertain if it has a Lightning connector or not you should probably reach out to Apple instead.

Are these lightening connectors separate from the IPod?

Also is using Bluetooth to stream from a smartphone to a device such as the Panasonic player that I mentioned actually secure, what I mean is can someone log into my music etc?

After getting some info on this, you shouldn't worry about security (someone accessing your device via bluetooth).
