Try wiping the cache of the dictionary. I've got so many autocorrect screw ups in my dictionary now... I'm tempted to turn it all off... I miss my x10 mini

Also, if you have the opposite problem, where you can't find words are meant to be in the dictionary.... go back out, and open up something where you can start typing the word. Then do a long press and hold, and then you'll be able to get rid of it.

Hey everyone.

Had my Z5 Compact for bit over 2 months now and 'fairly' happy with it (miss some stuff from my Z3 - like proper battery life but oh well :))

My problem right now is probably more related to the software from Android, than from Sony 'but' I had a software update a couple of days ago, which apparently completely wiped the automatic dictionary (it's called "my words" in Danish, not sure in English if it's called something else but it normally automatically adds words I use a lot) which was a bummer but I've seen it before. The problem is that now I can't 'manually' add any words, and it's also not adding a single word even though some of the words I use in almost every single message I write!! I can't just have it learn from my text messages or Gmail, as I don't use either - I almost only use Facebook and Hotmail.

Any solutions or at least other ppl with the same problem??

How do I wipe the cache? Also how can there be a cache to wipe when that's clearly what it did during the update??
I'm not having the opposite problem. I'm having the problem that it doesn't save a single word no matter how many times I've typed it and I can't manually add any words go the dictionary any way.

While this is not a direct solution to your problem. You could try "Google Keyboard" since it has a Sync setting option for your saved words using the Google account.

That will remain in future phones you use and sync with other Android devices you have.

It's not the personal dictionary. It's the Xperia keyboard one that automatically learns words (normally anyway). Cleared the cache for that and no change so far 😕

Okay I have absolutely 'zero' clue how it makes sense that this worked but in case others have the problem: going into the Xperia keyboard settings, then to the writing style part (not sure what it's called in English) and then scroll to bottom and tell it to wipe all language data. This worked and added every word back to the "my words" list rofl!
