Phone constantly optimizing apps and wont boot into safe mode.

Hello, I restarted my phone yesterday morning and it has been "optimizing apps" ever since, I have no access to a pc as I'm working away from home, I have hard resetted it loads of times and tried to boot it into safe mode using volume down and power (all this does is restart the phone to the sony screen over and over) is there anything else I can do to get the z3 working again? Any help is appreciated!

Thanks, unfortunately it won't be until I get home on Friday to try the pc companion, was hoping there was another way around this problem! It's really disappointing as this has been a great phone so far, with an upgrade due soon it will probably sour me from getting a Sony again, this malfunction has totally ruined my work week! Haha.

I'm sorry to hear that, you could remove both SIM and SD cards and check again.

Thanks, I've already tried that too, no joy, oh well, will plug it into the pc on Friday night! If that doesn't work I guess it's new phone time...

got it plugged into the pc, downlaoded the pc companion... tried every usb port but companion says it cannot find the phone... 100% battery... what a piece of crap. No phone for a week, the "fix" doesn't even fix it... Iphone here I come.

Actually whenever I click- "support zone new" it comes up: Application could not be installed, please try again later.

I have downloaded it twice and the same thing keeps coming up. Surely this cannot be the quality that Sony is peddling!?

Is there something I'm missing as the PC companion just doens't seem to do anything!

ive not been able to do a factory reset or get the phone and pc to speak to each other- the technology is flawed.

I used the Sony PC Companion and started the support zone program. From there I started update phone software and then pressed the link repair phone. Then a guide for system reset started. At first it did not work but I changed the USB cable and all of a sudden it started and after like 20 minutes I was up and running. It seems like the change of cable made the difference. I hope you get it to work too!

A quick update - the pc companion worked after changing laptop, phone is working now, thanks for all the help.
