Sony Xperia Z will not turn on after 2015 update

Hi.

So i recently installed the latest 2015 software update onto my Sony Xperia Z and at one stage, it asked for me to unplug the phone, open the case and remove the battery and put it back on. I tried my best to open it but since it is a waterproof model, it is really hard to open the back of the phone. MY PHONE SOMEHOW GOT MESSED UP AND WOULD NOT TURN BACK ON. No matter what i tried, the phone would not charge or turn on. Please help!

You need to perform a software repair using PC Companion.

Thanks for that. But this will require erasing all photos and videos on my phone. Which i do not want. Is there any other way to repair the phone without deleting my photos and videos?

If you were to use a flashtool, it might still not work properly unless you flash with data removal.

Try the following: power button and volume up at the same time. After this, connect to wall socket, charge for 2 hours and turn it on.

I´m going to try your solution because I have the same problem with my phone, suddenly it turned off and never turn on again!

Now I can to performe the next step: system repair.

@abdoukiller04 it should turn off. Then you should be able to turn it back on by pressing longer on power button.

Wall socket is the wall plug (where you plug your electronics).

You have to charge it for 2-3 hours after you press power button and volume up at the same time.

I downloaded the new software update about two weeks ago, and 3 days after the update my phone just shut down, won't turn back on and at the time of the shut down it have 85% battery. and Now 4 days later I can't get the phone to charge through a wall socket, or laptop. I'm trying the multi battery cahrger with USB now and it's still showing the red light and it's been chargiing for about 2 hours. I don't understand what's wrong..is there something else i should be doing?

Hi, I did have the same problem few days ago.

In order to perform a troubleshooting I did the software repair using PC companion, which means that the phone is reestablish as new, unfortunally the batery problem was unsolved, so for that reason a software problem was discarded. Knowing that, I brought the phone to tech support in order discard a hardware problem, right now I´m waiting for the diagnostic.

I´ll let you know the sony response as soon as I have it.
