Unable do deactivate Do not disturb

Hello,
I turned on Do not disturb, restarted my phone and now I cannot turn Do not disturb off. I can change the volume by going through Settings and the phone does ring while Do not disturb is active.
The restriction is that I cannot change the volume using the volume keys or make Do not disturb go away. The volume keys work, I have tested them with Diagnostics. When I press one of them, I see the DND icon and a End now button that doesn't work when touched. Here also I can change the Media and Alarm volumes, but not the Ringing volume as is specific to DND.
Restarting the phone, or going to safe mode does not help in any way.
Please advise

@Cis01 Try to add DND button from quick settings and switch if off like that.

@alexdon DND is in quick settings. Other than the button from quick settings I did not find any other means of switching DND on or off, besides the volume buttons. Neither of these methods work. Thank you very much for your comment!
There is no way of switching DND on or off through Settings, which I don't think is right.
Perhaps the problem could be fixed by Force stopping a System app, bur I don't know which one. Does anyone know?

@Cis01 Can you test the screen in diagnostics? Does that part of the screen work?

can you take a screenshot of the dnd settings? something might be amiss,

there are more settings once you press on the DND shortcut on the notification shade, there might be a settings that might have been changed

also pressing the volume keys up repeatedly will diable the DND function. have you tried that one?

Alright, so I fixed it and it reoccurred once after that. The solution is to restart the phone and press the volume key repeatedly to lower the volume, until you reach Vibrate, keep pressing until a message appears next to the End now button, at which point the button will finally work and finally turn off DND. The message goes something like this: "Until DND is off..." Thanks nolramlb for the tip on pressing the volume keys up repeatedly, it obviously helped a lot.

A question, if you use a 3rd party widget to change modes from DND to Vibrate and so on ....will it work ?

Thanks! I had searched for a solution in a number of online forums, but none of these tipps solved the bug. As an interim solution I set the "Do Not Disturb" to allow not only the the alarm but also all incoming messages and all incoming calls. That way the "Do Not Disturb" was still on but effectively turned off. Nonetheless anoying. Thus I am happy for this solution. It worked for me. Hopefully the bug will be dealt with by the software developers!

I am having the same issue. My volume up button no longer works and Do Not Disturb randomly pops up on my screen and is continuously turning the volume down to vibrate. I set my phone back to factory settings and reloaded updates and it was good for 12hours and now back. Try to talk to someone and i can't turn the volume up and sometimes my on off botton won't work. It also shut itself down and restarted in safe mode. This phone is becoiming worthless and unable to be used. I still have a year left on the contract and i can't use it.
