Do you have adaptive brightness enabled? Try to clean the sensor as it is very sensitive.

Yes I have it enabled since I get the phone but it has some of the issues that I said during this days. Any body had any similar issue? I will clean the sensor to see if it fixes, where is it by the way? Thanks

The sensor might not work properly if there is grease or dirt on it. It is located in the upper right part of the screen, near the notification light:

http://support.sonymobile.com/gb/xperiaz5compact/userguide/Overview-SN/

Okay thanks, I usually have no grease or dirt in it, but maybe I'll clean with water sometimes to prevent it. I'll text back if I observe that it works, thanks

If the device is particularly hot due sun light or heavy usage the display will go dark to avoid overheating.

When this happens, is the display or the phone in general hot?

It can be a possibility, cause this days I am playing some games quite hours..and the device is mainly all the time hot.. As well I observed that sometimes(cause the position of how I take the mobile to play) I put my finger in from of the sensor( I started to observe that sometimes I do it without realize of it).. I will continue checking if is only that things that you all comment, thanks.

Let us know. But I will ask you to try for just one day to not play with the phone and to check if with normal usage the adaptive brightness works correctly.

Hi!! I was observing the adaptative brightness during this time and I have to say that it actually works good, but it is so sensitive that with any movement in a diferent direction where is diferent light level it change, so if I am in a place with some diferents intensities of light I need to put the mobile in the orientation that is better( like I am I a place with light on top of me but behind there is less the sensor takes some of the less, I hope it is a good explanation). The problem can be known as resolted by my part by the moment Cheers
