Trying To Use Samsung Smart Switch To Transfer Note 5 to Z5 Premium-Says App Not Comaptible?

I have a Samsung Note 5 and love Samsungs Smart Switch. Get error of app not compatible when downloading from Play Store. I read you can do that transfer?

Does anyone know if that is possible?

If not what is the best way to transfer contact-messages-email settings-Settings-Themes-and all other options that Smart Switch has?

Advice/Info would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi @popeye123, congrats on your new Sony Xperia Z5 Premium!

I'm afraid I wont be able to assist you with the Samsung Smart Switch since it's Samsung application and to my understanding this app is used to transfer data to a Samsung device and not from a Samsung device.

I would recommend that you use our own application Xperia Transfer to transfer data from your Samsung phone to your new Xperia phone.

First of, start with downloading the Xperia Transfer application from the Google Play store in your old device. The app is preinstalled in your Xperia Z5 Premium and you can find it in Settings > Backup & reset > Xperia Transfer mobile.

Follow the instructions in the application.

You can also use a computer and the program Xperia Companion to transfer data to your new device. Download and install the program on your computer, Windows or Mac. Open up the program and press on Xperia transfer > Next > Android > connect your old phone and follow the instructions on the screen.

Let me know how it went with the transfer!

Thanks-from Galaxy to Z5-what transfers. It never asked me to there were 3 options and that was it. What transfers over exactly. I gather e mail setting do not?

Does setting transfer wallpapers....

Email settings won't be transferred unless it's from a Xperia device to another Xperia device.

Below you see which data that will be transferred from a non-Xperia device.

Contacts
Calendar
Call log
Text messages (SMS)
Multimedia messages (MMS)
Notes
Photos
Music
Videos
Documents
Apps and Apps data

Regarding data from apps it's all depending on the app itself, if it allows and supports transferring of data from a phone to another phone.

If you have contacts synchronized with for example, Google these won't be transferred but as soon as you add the same Google account in the new phone they will synchronize.

If you have photos on a SD card these won't be transferred either since Xperia transfer will only transfer data from the internal storage of your old device so you will have to remove your SD card and put it in the new device.
