I just bought a Sony a99v, and have taken my first pictures, the first few in RAW and then a series in Extra Fine. The RAW one's upload to either my Aperture or Light Room 5 software okay, but neither software will load the Extra Fine ones, which are presumably just .jpg's, so any suggestions as what's going wrong..?

In Lightroom, there is somewhere an option that only the (identical) RAW file will be imported if shot in both RAW+jpeg. This is enabled by default. If you want to import both RAW and jpeg pictures into Lightroom, you have to untick this option somewhere in options/settings of LR.

I have no experience with aperture, but i guess it's the same story.

Because, what's the use of importing both jpg and RAW to a raw-conversion program?
