topic Screen brightness doesn't change in manual mode - Sony A7 II in Alpha & NEX interchangeable lens cameras

Hi guys,

I'm new to Sony and I just got an A7 II.

When I use it in manual mode sometimes I would like to under/overexpose an image a little, but when I do that the brightness of the screen/viewfinder doesn't change, so I only find out what the photo looks like once I've taken it.

My Olympus camera changed the screen brightness, so I always knew how much I needed to under/overexpose an image in order to get the result that I was looking for. With my Sony it becomes trial and error and a much longer process.

Is it supposed to be this way or am I missing something?

Thanks!

Go in the menu, the chapter with the gear, page 3, top line:

Live view- effect on or off. Your's wil be on off. Put it on and you see every change on the screen as well as the viewfinder.

Kind regards, Kees.
