A350 memory failure to recognise CF cards.

Hi all, hope someone can help or advise please.

My 2008-ish sony a350 dslr has stopped recognising new and used cf memory cards.

When I put a card in the slot and close the door then turn on camera, some times I will get a message "Unable to recognise card" or sometimes nothing will happen at all.

I can't even get into settings to format the cards.

The very strange thing is...if I put my CF to SD adaptor in with an SD card installed the camera works perfectly.

I have tried taking the battery out while switched on.....

Tried installing card before battery, after battery....

Even reset camera back to factory settings....

But nothing helps...hope some one here can please help, as it's driving me nuts.

As a side note the CF CARDS work perfectly in my other cameras, just not the A350 now and they used to be interchangeable and worked fine.
